Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career.THE ROLE:As an IC CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Cadence Virtuoso platform in a custom design environment at AMD. You will work with CAD team members to verify existing setups for new technology enablement, collaborate with vendors to evaluate new features for deployment, and provide user support to meet design deliverable schedules. You will also enable AI agents across all CAD areas to speed up the design cycle and improve CAD tool user experience. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our custom CAD flows.THE PERSON:You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, custom design, and verification in general. You are a team player with excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with engineers located across different sites and time zones. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, are eager to learn, and ready to tackle challenges. You are passionate about improving processes and user experience through AI integration.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Set up and maintain Cadence Virtuoso schematic and layout featuresWrite and improve Cadence SKILL scriptsWork with vendors and designers to evaluate and deploy new featuresBuild regression testbenches to maintain CAD tool and flow qualityProvide technical support and training to users across multiple sitesEnhance overall user experience through AI agent integrationPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Experience with Virtuoso schematic/layoutExperience with developing Virtuoso utilities Experience with Cadence SKILL languageExperience with creating AI agents using Claude Code or any equivalent AI agentic toolProficiency in programming languages such as Cadence SKILL, Perl, Python, and Tcl.
