Compensation: $20-$28 per hour, depending on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our team for the upcoming tax season, from January 2027 through April 2027.

This position will work directly with a CPA in the preparation of individual, trust, and business tax returns. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with tax preparation or accounting experience who wants to further develop their skills while working closely with an experienced tax professional.

The Seasonal Tax Preparer will assist with preparing accurate and timely tax returns, gathering and reviewing client information, communicating with clients, and supporting the CPA throughout tax season.

Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate federal and state income tax returns for CPA review
• Review client tax documents for completeness and accuracy
• Identify missing information and communicate with clients as needed
• Apply current federal and state tax laws when preparing returns
• Assist clients with questions regarding their tax returns and filing requirements
• Maintain organized and complete client files
• Protect confidential client and financial information
• Meet tax-season deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Work collaboratively with the CPA and other members of the office team

Qualifications
• Previous tax preparation experience preferred
• Knowledge of individual federal and state income tax returns preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple client returns and deadlines during a busy tax season
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working directly with clients
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office
• Accounting, bookkeeping, or business tax experience is a plus

Schedule

This is a seasonal position running approximately January 2027 through April 2027. Candidates should be available for increased hours during peak tax-season periods.
