Neuromuscular Neurologist (ALS)

The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota and UMPhysicians is recruiting a full-time neurologist for MHealth Fairview (University of Minnesota Physicians/Fairview Health Services Partnership).Position Highlights:We are seeking a neuromuscular medicine-certified physician with a subspecialty interest in ALS research and care.The position requires an approximate 30% role in leading neuromuscular clinical research, as part of an established clinical and translational research program. Candidates with experience in neuromuscular research, existing funded research, and research expertise, including those with MD PhD and MD MPH, are encouraged to applyAs part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position will provide outpatient neuromuscular services on the University campus and community clinics, including the following:ALS multidisciplinary clinicGeneral neuromuscular clinicEMG Neuromuscular ultrasoundLimited inpatient call coverage is expected. Opportunities to supervise and train medical students, residents and fellows.Opportunity to collaborate with innovative neuroscience physicians and researchers on clinical trials, biomarker development, and other academic activities.Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited Neurology residency training program and Board Certified or Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic AssociationCompletion of a Neuromuscular Fellowship Program.Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice LicensureAbility to obtain and / or maintain DEA certification for the State of MinnesotaMeet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.Excellent teaching and interpersonal skillsNote: This position is not eligible for applicants requiring a J1 visa waiver.Pay and Benefits:This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this position is $218,757 - $344,326 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE.  The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
