Senior IT Project Manager

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years experience managing technology projects to support business capabilities.

• Prefer experience with either SAP projects, custom application development or both.

• Familiar with both waterfall and agile methodologies and hybrid project execution.

• Nice to Have: Previous experience that aligns with one or more of these key areas as eCommerce, supporting sales, pricing, merchandising, master data solutions, customer/vendor rebates, financial systems.

• Nice to Have: Experience managing vendor projects.

• Someone with strong collaboration and influencing skills.

• Experience tracking project or vendor budgets

• Tools: MS Project, Jira, RAID log

• Experience facilitating meetings, gain alignment, etc.

• Experience interacting directly with senior leadership, as well as, detailed technology associates/leadership

Job Summary

Manages and oversees all aspects of medium- to large-scale technology projects, including scope, costs, schedules, internal staffing, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Ensures all projects are completed on-time and within budget.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Develops, analyzes, and manages project plans, schedules, and resource forecasts and makes adjustments as needed.

• Manages project financials and provides input and justification for costs and budgetary impacts.

• Communicates project goals to the team, coordinates team activities to ensure project milestones are achieved, and provides performance feedback on project objectives.

• Controls and mitigates project risks by analyzing and identifying trigger events.

• Establishes contingency plans, anticipates and communicates dependencies affected by ongoing project changes, and recommends ways to mitigate future risks.

• Oversees the alignment, buy-in, and support of diverse project stakeholders by building and maintaining relationships with internal customers, third party vendors, and senior management.

• Provides insight and recommendations to management to assist in the development of project goals, inform the prioritization of deliverables, and facilitate decisions necessary for project delivery.

• Gathers, maintains, and communicates lessons learned and feedback to project stakeholders and management.

Nature and Scope

• Displays the highest level of critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-departmental problems. Makes prompt, sound decisions when faced with complex and often contradictory alternatives that result in successful outcomes.

• Operates with considerable latitude. Situations may have little or no precedent requiring original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.

• Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross-departmental considerations are often present.

Work Environment

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 8+ years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
