Process Engineer

Process Engineer – Design, development, optimization and operation of manufacturing and supporting processes. Lead projects, provide functional leadership and engineering solutions that drive safety, quality and productivity at Kimberly‑Clark. Responsibilities Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $10million from conception through commercialization. Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development and optimization of manufacturing equipment and processes to meet unit objectives. Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner and develop processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and wellbeing of technicians and other personnel. Assist in the development of others in the area of incumbent’s expertise, while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience. Seek, recognize, define and solve problems to achieve unit objectives. Identify complex technical issues to determine root cause. Analyze and improve process capability to deliver a reduction in defects and variability. Identify, develop and provide leadership to implement products, processes, materials, systems and procedures to achieve desired business results. Qualifications Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or a relevant scientific discipline. Prefer Chemical and/or Pulp and Paper degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments. Normally requires mill and staff experience; prefer candidates with 5–8+ years or more of experience in both mill and staff environments. Past experience in paper making (tissue or towels) highly desirable. Strong experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as SPC, design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma, and others. A recognized expert in manufacturing processes with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process and capacity improvements in major capital projects. Experience and expertise with Kimberly‑Clark manufacturing process engineering technology, procedures, processes and products preferred. Experience working with external technical service providers preferred. Demonstrated continuing self‑development (e.g., progress toward an advanced degree) preferred. A demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.
