Medical Records Clerk

The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn for over 40 years. We are seeking a Medical Records Clerk is responsible for assisting with the processing of the medical records of the Center, including preparing, storing, and retrieving patient health records in response to record requests. The medical record clerk reviews medical records for compliance with approved policies. The Medical Records Clerk will perform other administrative duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Prepares new patient/clients charts, gathering documents and information from paper sources and/or electronic health record.
• Ensures medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete.
• Creates digital images of paperwork to be stored in the electronic medical record.
• Files paperwork and reports in patient charts, ensuring they are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

Education, Experience, Certification, Requirements:

• High School Diploma or higher. Work experience may be replaced by education.
• 2 years of related experience

Hourly rate: $18
