Carpentry Instructor

Roanoke-Chowan Community College

The Carpentry Instructor is responsible for providing classroom instruction, distance learning instruction, and practical shop experience to prepare students for employment in a variety of jobs in the field of Carpentry. The instructor will teach courses related to the core skills used by carpenters in residential and commercial settings. Topics include safety, hand/power tool use, site preparation, measurement and layout, footings and foundation, construction framing, and other related topics. Qualifications: High School Diploma with journey or licensed technician level experience (at least 4 years) 3 years of relevant industry experience in the construction industry Teaching and/or industry training experience in construction/carpentry topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution OSHA Certifications Postsecondary teaching experience More than 3 years of relevant industry experience in the construction industry Experience with commercial construction processes Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems #J-18808-Ljbffr
