Their employees are passionate about their customers and their mission, as they enjoy working with cutting edge technologies and advancements that are positively impacting our society.The JobOur client is actively seeking a Lead, Project Engineer (PE) to support the execution of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on airborne platforms and development of our Digital ICE product line. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the program technical development is performed to meet all technical, cost, and schedule requirements. This includes but is not limited to:Planning and execution of program activitiesDocumenting and approval of program plansEnsuring life-cycle process adherenceRisk identification and managementCustomer and Senior Leadership interactionOverall program coordination during the program lifecycleThe individual Engineering Functional Task Leaders (Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Logistic Engineering, Technical Publications, etc.) report to and take direction from the Project Engineer for the assigned program operations. In addition, Project Engineers are the key technical interfaces to Customers and have the responsibility to interact with Customers at every phase of the program lifecycle.FunctionsLead cross-functional engineering teams in program execution and bid/proposal activities.Provide technical leadership to resolve design and integration challenges for system integration effortsProvide technical leadership on the integration of specialized hardware and software for Electronic Attack Mission Systems and Digital ICS productsProvide leadership in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget.Track Engineering Performance Metrics and brief program status on a monthly basis to senior engineering leadershipTrack cost and schedule execution and be able to explain any variances and the path to get back to program targetsEnsure program execution and Bid/Proposal development are in accordance with engineering processes and policiesEnsure compliance with performance, reliability, and safety standardsThis position will largely lead an ongoing contract for aircraft test support and will need to be available to travel to Integrated Test Team Meetings, Site evaluations and some test events.QualificationsBachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.In lieu of a degree, minimum of 12 years of prior related experience.An active DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.Demonstrated experience in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget.Demonstrated experience understanding of engineering processes and policiesDemonstrated experience in Aircraft Integration, Test and DeliveryAbility to travel as needed based on business demandsDemonstrated experience in one or more of the following disciplines:Software/Hardware EngineeringSystems Engineering (including Test Engineering)Project EngineeringPreferred SkillsDemonstrated experience in leadership by being a Task Leader, IPT Leader, and/or Functional Manager, or other similar leadership rolesDemonstrated experience in communicating with internal and external Customer stakeholdersExcellent communication skillsSecurity ClearancePlease be aware this position requires an active DoD Secret security clearance, and ultimately will require a TS/SCI security clearance once this person is onboard. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. In addition, applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
