Job Details:


• 12-hour shifts with shift times dependent on requisition
• Weekend rotation every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Holiday expectations: 2 out of 4 major holidays or every other holiday
• Orientation consists of two 12-hour shifts on the unit
• Patient ratios: 1:4 (acuity based) for day and night shifts; 1:6 for fast track
• Care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics across all ED diagnoses
• Manage a heavy mental health patient population
• Handle trauma cases including gunshot wounds, stabbings, falls, and motor vehicle collisions
• Stabilize invasive neuro and STEMI patients prior to transfer
• 3 years of ED experience in a fast-paced emergency department required
• Triage experience strongly preferred
• Required skills include cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, basic knowledge of critical care drips and medication administration, NIHSS experience, TPA administration, blood administration, procedural sedation, and code blue experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• EPIC experience required
• Must be proficient with Alaris and Pyxis equipment
• Scrub color: Any color, professional

Facility:


This medical center is a Level IV Trauma Center and Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center operating 228 beds, including a 35-bed emergency department with 6 fast track rooms that sees an average of 168 patients per day. The facility is a teaching hospital with a Level III NICU and Geriatric Accredited Center designation, offering comprehensive specialty support services including 24/7 ED physicians, mid-level providers, respiratory therapy, ED educators, and security. The unit also benefits from unit secretaries, ED techs, phlebotomy support, and central and bedside telemetry monitoring available around the clock.
