Plasma Center Nurse LPN

Job Description As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you support plasma center operations and work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable test results. Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health; follow EHS guidance. Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate-equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfilled state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience. Compensation U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44 per hour. The offered hourly wage may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. The wage includes U.S. minimum wage compliance.
