Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary The Speech Language Pathologist provides specialized evaluation and treatment services primarily for inpatient neurogenic disorders including stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, trauma, and post-intubation conditions. This role involves conducting cognitive evaluations for home safety and performing swallow studies. The Speech Language Pathologist collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support patient rehabilitation and recovery, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and facility expectations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing assessments for inpatient neuro patients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical guidelines. Conduct cognitive evaluations to assess patient safety for home discharge. Carry out swallow studies and provide appropriate interventions for dysphagia. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Document patient progress and update treatment plans accordingly. Maintain compliance with facility policies, procedures, and performance expectations. Required Skills & Certifications Active Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of Nebraska. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Experience or knowledge in neurogenic speech and swallowing disorders. Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills. Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Preferred Skills & Certifications Experience working with inpatient populations involving stroke, TBI, Parkinson's, trauma, and post-intubation cases. Familiarity with cognitive evaluations related to home safety. Experience conducting swallow studies and managing dysphagia patients. Special Considerations Position requires adherence to facility performance standards; contracts may be terminated if expectations are not met. Work environment includes inpatient care with potential outpatient responsibilities.
