Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
We have an opening for a Special Education Teacher (SPED) in a school district in Clovis, NM and are actively interviewing candidates. This role supports students in an Intensive Learning Center with high behavioral needs in a self-contained classroom setting.
Position Details
- Full-time | Weekdays only
- Start date: August 10, 2026 – May 20, 2027
- Hours: 37.5 per week
- Caseload: Intensive Learning Center (self-contained, high behavioral needs)
- Setting: Onsite only
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in a self-contained classroom for students with intensive behavioral needs
- Develop and implement IEPs, goals, and behavior intervention strategies
- Support students with emotional, behavioral, and academic needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Collaborate with school staff, aides, and related service providers
- Foster a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
Required Qualifications
- Active New Mexico Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain)
- Open to candidates with pending licensure
- Experience working with students with high behavioral needs preferred
- Strong classroom management and behavior support skills
