Associate Polysomnographic Technologist - Sleep Lab

Job Overview The non‑registered Sleep Disorder Technologist is an entry‑level position responsible for helping to maintain or restore maximum functioning of the patient's cardiopulmonary system in accordance with physician orders and/or departmental protocols. The role requires initiative in developing ideas and responding to problem situations, and typically reports to the supervisor who evaluates these ideas. Work processes and assignments for patients of all ages frequently require the incumbent to interpret and apply operating procedures, technical standards, and/or protocols to problems of varying complexity. Responsibilities This position provides quality diagnostic sleep services to patients of all ages, adjusting the approach to meet each patient's specific needs. Responsibilities include calibration and quality control of diagnostic sleep equipment, ensuring that reports are accurate and ready for interpreting physicians in a timely manner, scoring polysomnographic recordings accurately, and recording pertinent technical notes to aid physicians in diagnosing sleep disorders. The technologist participates in performance‑improvement activities as requested to continually enhance the quality of services offered. The role reports to the Supervisor of Sleep Disorders.
