Pharmacy Manager - Inpatient

The Ideal candidate The Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy and at least 5 years experience as a Pharmacist, including 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role. Candidate will have previous experience in managing Pharmacy Operations and demonstrate leadership through provision of development opportunities and ongoing feedback to employees, while promoting relationships through collaborative work with inter- and intradepartmental team members. Working Hours: This will be a Hybrid model. Our Inpatient Pharmacy team delivers comprehensive and high-quality medication distribution services across the hospital. We manage all aspects of inpatient drug delivery, including unit dose dispensing, IV admixture preparation, and specialized systems for controlled substances and investigational drugs. We leverage advanced automation and robotic dispensing technology to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety in every step of the process. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Manages pharmacy operations Implementing and maintaining best practices as defined through legal and national standards Developing comprehensive quality programs to assure medication safety (follow-up on PSN reports for workflow changes as needed) Monitoring area workflow according to defined metrics to assure all duties are performed in an efficient manner, or adjusting accordingly Directing workflow and monitoring productivity Meeting patient care needs Leadership Provision of development opportunities and ongoing feedback to employees Clear direction and communication to employees within unit Effective project management to meet timelines, service levels, and defined budget within defined limits Initiative to learn new procedures/technology Leads by example in behavior and work ethic Relationships Collaboratively working with inter- and intradepartmental team members Timely resolution of conflicts and service level complaints (grievance or PSN reports) Timely addressing conflicts between staff within the department; works toward win‑win solutions Active support and participation in team projects Promoting and maintaining a professional work environment Other duties as assigned Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited school of pharmacy. Preferred Education: Doctorate (Professional). Certification: Texas State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license within 90 days of job entry American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of job entry Preferred Certification: Basic Life Support, ACPE for IV Sterile Processing Experience: Five years of pharmacist experience, including three years in a supervisory/managerial role. With preferred degree (which must be obtained within 180 days), completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 pharmacy administrative residency program can substitute for required experience. Successful completion of the Leading Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or managerial experience. Preferred Experience: Supervisory experience with an advanced degree. Experience with Epic Electronic Health Record. Onsite Presence: Required. This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
