(“MFPS”) is an employee leasing and professional services organization that provides human resources, payroll, benefits administration, and operational support services to mission-driven organizations.This position supports MFPS clients, including Mi Familia Vota (“MFV”) and Mi Familia en Acción (“MFA”). Employees of MFPS may perform services on behalf of MFPS clients in support of their operational, programmatic, and organizational goals.About Mi Familia Vota and Mi Familia en AcciónMi Familia Vota and Mi Familia en Acción are national, Latino-led civic engagement organizations dedicated to building political power, strengthening civic engagement, and advancing policies that support Latino communities.MFA, a 501(c)(3) organization, conducts nonpartisan programs focused on citizenship, voter registration, voter education, leadership development, and issues including immigration, education, healthcare, voting rights, workers’ rights, reproductive rights, and the environment.MFV, a 501(c)(4) organization, builds Latino political power through advocacy, organizing, and mobilization to help ensure that Latino voices shape the policies affecting their health, safety, and prosperity.Together, MFV and MFA operate one of the largest Latino civic engagement infrastructures in the country, with programs across Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas, and Washington, D.C.Position SummaryThe Organizing Director supports the work of MFPS and its clients, including Mi Familia Vota and Mi Familia en Acción, by leading community organizing initiatives focused on community engagement, leadership development, issue advocacy, and electoral organizing.This position develops and oversees strategic organizing campaigns designed to build long-term community power and increase civic participation within Latino communities. Working closely with the State Director and the Campaigns and Programs Department, the Organizing Director integrates the organizations’ Ladder of Engagement and organizing model into state strategies and campaign plans.The Organizing Director supervises organizing staff and field teams, oversees campaign planning and execution, and collaborates with communications, data, program, and other internal teams. This position is also responsible for establishing organizing goals, monitoring performance metrics, strengthening field operations, and ensuring accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe employee will perform the essential duties described below in support of MFPS and its clients, including Mi Familia Vota and Mi Familia en Acción, as assigned by MFPS-authorized management.Campaign Planning and Organizing StrategyDevelop and implement organizing strategies aligned with organizational priorities, state plans, and campaign goals.Integrate the organizations’ Ladder of Engagement and organizing model into state-level strategies and activities.Ensure the integration of long-term community power-building initiatives with cyclical electoral organizing efforts.Plan and oversee community engagement, voter registration, voter education, Get Out the Vote (“GOTV”), and issue-advocacy initiatives.Establish measurable organizing goals, benchmarks, timelines, and accountability systems.Monitor and evaluate organizing, community leadership-development, voter-contact, and campaign-performance metrics.Analyze organizing data and community feedback to identify trends, opportunities for growth, and necessary strategic adjustments.Collaborate with data, communications, campaigns, programs, and other internal teams to ensure coordinated campaign planning and execution.Prepare and provide timely reports, updates, and recommendations to organizational leadership.Community Engagement and Coalition BuildingBuild and maintain productive relationships with community members, coalition partners, local organizations, elected officials, service providers, and other stakeholders.Support organizing staff in recruiting, developing, and engaging community members and volunteer leaders.Develop strategies to increase civic participation and strengthen community leadership.Oversee and support community meetings, leadership trainings, public events, outreach activities, mobilizations, and advocacy efforts.Represent MFPS and its clients professionally at coalition meetings, community events, and external engagements.Ensure organizing strategies and activities remain community-centered and responsive to local needs and priorities.Staff Supervision and Leadership DevelopmentSupervise, coach, and support organizing staff and field teams.Establish clear goals, expectations, work plans, and performance standards for assigned employees.Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback, coaching, mentorship, and professional-development opportunities.Foster a collaborative, inclusive, respectful, and accountable team culture.Support the recruitment, interviewing, selection, onboarding, training, and management of permanent, temporary, and seasonal organizing staff.Collaborate with Human Resources and management on performance-management, employee-relations, and corrective-action processes, as appropriate.Promote employee compliance with organizational policies, voter-engagement requirements, data-security standards, and applicable health and safety protocols.Electoral and Field OperationsOversee the implementation of voter-contact programs, canvassing operations, phone and text banking, and other field outreach activities.Ensure organizing and field staff follow established outreach, reporting, quality-control, and data-entry procedures.Ensure voter databases, constituent relationship management systems, and organizing tools are used accurately and consistently.Monitor field activities and address operational, staffing, performance, and compliance concerns promptly.Support the hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and management of temporary and seasonal staff during election cycles.Coordinate with internal teams to ensure adequate staffing, materials, technology, data, and other resources for field operations.Support rapid-response organizing, mobilization, and campaign efforts as needed.Ensure all organizing and electoral activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, organizational policies, and the requirements governing the supported client organization.Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsEducationA specific degree is not required. Relevant education, training, lived experience, and professional or volunteer experience will be considered.ExperienceFour to six years of progressively responsible experience in community organizing, civic engagement, electoral organizing, advocacy, campaigns, or a related field.Three or more years of staff supervision or team-leadership experience preferred.Experience developing and managing organizing programs, field operations, electoral initiatives, or community-based campaigns.Experience establishing performance goals, monitoring organizing metrics, and using data to evaluate and improve campaign performance.Experience working in nonprofit, advocacy, political, community engagement, or other mission-driven organizations preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrated commitment to civic engagement, social justice, racial equity, and Latino community empowerment.Strong knowledge of grassroots organizing, relational organizing, base-building, leadership development, and electoral field operations.Strong supervisory, coaching, mentoring, and team-development skills.Ability to develop organizing strategies and translate organizational priorities into measurable work plans and campaign activities.Strong oral and written communication, facilitation, public-speaking, and presentation skills.Ability to build and maintain productive relationships across diverse communities, coalitions, and stakeholder groups.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret organizing data and adjust strategies accordingly.Excellent organizational, time-management, and project-management skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities, supervise concurrent projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to lead effectively during election cycles, rapid-response efforts, and other high-volume periods.Familiarity with voter databases, constituent relationship management systems, and organizing tools, including VAN or EveryAction, preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and applicable reporting and database platforms.Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive employee, community, voter, and organizational information appropriately.Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across departments.Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required.Ability to travel within the assigned state or service area and to other locations as needed.Physical RequirementsThe physical requirements described below are representative of those necessary to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to work at a computer and operate standard office equipment for extended periods.Ability to communicate and exchange information effectively with employees, community members, partners, and other stakeholders.Ability to move throughout office, event, field, and community locations.Ability to conduct field observations and participate in meetings, trainings, canvassing activities, mobilizations, and public events.Ability to travel by automobile or commercial transportation, as applicable.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in office, remote, field, and community-based environments, depending on business and programmatic needs.The Organizing Director may be required to travel throughout the assigned state or service area and attend meetings, trainings, conferences, community activities, campaign events, and mobilizations in support of MFPS and its clients. Morning, evening, weekend, and extended hours may be required, particularly during election cycles, major campaigns, rapid-response efforts, and other high-volume periods.Field activities may occur indoors or outdoors and may involve varying weather conditions, noise levels, crowds, and travel between multiple locations.Employees working remotely must comply with applicable MFPS and client operational, confidentiality, information-security, and technology requirements.
