Marketing & Proposal Manager

Heaviside Industries builds multi-domain autonomous precision munitions for U.S. and allied special operations and conventional forces. While modern warfare has rapidly evolved with the proliferation of unmanned systems, hyper-precise munitions in contested environments are the future of the battlefield. Economical precision strike capabilities are critical to U.S. and allied war efforts, enabling successful defeat of enemy military assets and infrastructure. Heaviside builds precision munitions designed to operate in GPS-denied and spectrum-jammed battlefields—where traditional systems degrade or fail—without inflated prices or sacrifice to performance. All engineering and manufacturing is conducted in-house in Heaviside's Los Angeles, CA headquarters and Oslo, Norway office. WHAT YOU WILL DO Manage proposal development end-to-end (RFP/RFI/SBIR/OTA responses), including schedules, compliance matrices, and submissions Write, edit, and format proposal content in coordination with BD and engineering Build and maintain a library of reusable proposal content, past performance, and capability statements Produce marketing collateral: website content, social posts, datasheets, one‑pagers, and event materials Coordinate trade shows, demonstrations, and customer‑facing events Maintain brand consistency across all external materials Support BD with CRM hygiene and opportunity tracking WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 0-3+ years in proposal management, marketing, or communications—ideally in defense, aerospace, or government contracting Exemplary writing, editing, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines under pressure Familiarity with government proposal processes (FAR, compliance matrices, color reviews) preferred Proficiency with standard office and design tools (Microsoft 365, Adobe, etc.) Detail‑oriented, self‑directed, and comfortable in a fast‑paced startup Clear and concise written and verbal communication [BONUS] Experience with SBIR/STTR or OTA proposals [BONUS] Graphic design or layout skills (InDesign or equivalent) [BONUS] APMP membership or certification Additional Information: Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full‑time hires, you may also be eligible for long‑term incentives in the form of stock options, access to medical, vision & dental coverage, and access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
