Their primary functions include:Acting as the main liaison between technologists and stakeholdersEstablishing and maintaining relationships with the designated business partners to support strategic objectivesFacilitating solution assessment through analysis, management, communication of requirements, translation and alignment on solutions that meet IT strategy and business objectivesAnalyzing and assisting the business with defining and/or designing new business solutions and documenting solution(s)Being the first line of support for end usersTroubleshooting and issue resolutionDeveloping and maintaining complex reports and queriesSystem configuration and prototypingUnderstanding of complex technology and applications; has experience with a multitude of business processes and information systemsIn addition to the meaningful work we do, we offer work-life balance, competitive pay and benefits, an employee incentive plan, and both a 401k employer-match and a pension plan, making Idaho Power one of the best employers in the state.A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVEKnowledge of:Business analyst principles, requirements management, business case development, requirements elicitation, communication, analysis, advanced application functionality and process modelingAdaptive and predictive project management methodologiesCreating technical design specificationsDeveloping reports, dashboards, and queriesIdentifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with configuration items and development objectsSkills in:Requirements management from planning to executionDeveloping and tracking project requirementsVerbal and written communicationMeeting facilitation and negotiationCreating and maintaining business relationshipsProblem solving, making sound recommendations and managing stakeholder expectationsBasic SQL capabilitiesImplementation of ERP systems and/or custom developed solutionsAbility to:Use sound judgment and decision makingUnderstand table structuresGather business requirements, interpret technical specifications and relate them to system functionalityFacilitate work sessions with stakeholders to design or redesign business processes to meet requirementsManage assigned project tasksManage multiple technology projects/initiativesCommunicate clearly with technical personnel along with all levels of business leadership and project stakeholdersPrioritize course of action for self and others to ensure that work is managed effectivelyEffectively translate business requirements into design specifications that can be leveraged by a developer to create a solution that meets business objectivesProactively identify potential issues before they impact end usersRespond promptly and professionally to issues identified by end users, assist in identification and implementation of resolutionMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation:Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related fieldORAn equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and/or certificationsExperience:5 or more years of professional level IT/business experience with a minimum of 3 years of business analyst experiencePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people.
