Interventional Radiology Tech

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for preparing patients for procedures, assisting physicians during exams, maintaining sterile technique, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images. This role also assists with inventory management, specimen preparation, patient scheduling, and compliance with departmental policies and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologists during interventional procedures.
• Prepare patients and explain procedures in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Maintain sterile fields and assist with specialized procedural equipment.
• Operate radiographic equipment and obtain high-quality images.
• Monitor patients during procedures and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Prepare and process specimens for pathology when required.
• Maintain inventory of catheters, guidewires, stents, and procedural supplies.
• Document procedures and patient information accurately.
• Participate in call coverage as assigned.
• Support quality patient care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and safety regulations.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT registered or registry eligible.
• Current New Mexico Certified Radiologic Technologist License required.
• CPR Certification required.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology preferred but not required.
