EPD Student Assistant and Tutor (Federal Work Study)

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

• Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
• Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
• Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
• Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
• A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
• Federal Work Study student may apply.
• In good disciplinary standing.
• Must be located in the U.S.

The EPD office is looking for a self-motivated, responsible person to provide office assistance and support for the EPD Department. The ideal candidate for this position will be an EPD student with a strong customer service-oriented background who can greet a high volume of students and visitors, run departmental errands, and support faculty projects. Skills in media development are a plus, as students may be asked to help with organization, editing, and/or creation of media content. In addition, they will be asked to tutor in EPD core and MTEC-111 courses as needed.

This job requires federal work-study eligibility and U.S. domestic status.

Responsibilities:

Office assistance to the EPD coordinator, attending to the front desk, attending to various office tasks as needed, organizing and editing existing EPD content, creating new EPD media/content, contributing to EPD social media accounts, and occasional core course tutoring.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Applicant must be an EPD Major and finished with the 2xx level EPD core courses.
• Requires good working knowledge of software used for office work such as Microsoft Office and photo editing software
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Should be able to demonstrate an ability to explain concepts taught in the core music production EPD courses including specific knowledge of software used in class, such as Logic Pro, GarageBand, Pro Tools, Kontakt, and Ableton Live
