Support dentists and hygienists in a general dentistry practice by preparing patients and operatories, assisting with a range of preventive, restorative, surgical, and orthodontic procedures, and providing clinical support and patient education under the direction of the dental team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and dental procedures.
- Provide chairside assistance to dentists and hygienists, including support for multiple dentists or a single dentist.
- Assist with preventive, restorative, surgical, and orthodontic procedures.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain appropriate infection-control standards.
- Assist with radiographs as directed.
- Set up and break down operatories for scheduled treatments.
- Document treatment details accurately.
- Provide patient education and pre- and post-treatment instructions.
- Monitor and maintain dental supply inventory.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in dental assisting.
- Dental assisting certificate or diploma.
