Senior Java Developer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Long Island City, NY that is seeking a Senior Java Developer. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with expertise in Java development, streaming technologies, cloud-native architectures, and production support in high-volume environments.Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications for real-time data processing
• Build and support event-driven and streaming data solutions
• Develop scalable microservices and deploy applications in Kubernetes environments
• Implement auto-scaling, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization strategies
• Work with NoSQL databases to support high-throughput applications and large data sets
• Ensure applications are resilient, reliable, and production-ready
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues while driving continuous improvements
• Partner with engineering, DevOps, and cloud teams to deliver high-quality solutions

Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience
• Strong experience with real-time messaging, event streaming, or distributed systems
• Expertise with Kubernetes and containerized application deployments
• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Cosmos DB
• Strong understanding of application monitoring, logging, performance tuning, and production support
• Experience designing scalable, high-availability applications in cloud environments
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
