Obtains quality diagnostic scans and assists physicians as needed. Selects practical applications and technical factors to ensure effective departmental processes. Adapts procedures to each patient’s medical situation, obtaining all necessary information for proper interpretation. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy and physiology. Performs echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, contrast and agitated saline studies, and assists with TEE procedures. Conducts carotid exams, abdominal exams, upper and lower extremity arterial/venous studies, and imaging of pre-operative/post-operative bypass grafts, stents, and endarterectomies. Calculates and documents information accurately. Communicates abnormal findings to the reading physicians and notifies them of procedures to be interpreted. Manages time and equipment effectively and works as a team member to provide the best patient care. Participates in performance improvement projects and proactively initiates process improvement ideas. Honors patient’s rights by following privacy guidelines and code of ethics with patients, physicians, co-workers, and guests. Other duties as assigned.
