About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 3x12, Friday - Sunday Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Current RN License in the state of Missouri Certifications: BLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: 2 years Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Experience. Teaching hospital experience will be considered. Scrub and OR Circulator experience. Interventional Vascular experience for at least 1 year. Competence in conscious sedation. Description: The position entails performing direct patient care activities for all age groups. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. Demonstrated skill in human relations and communications is essential. Must exhibit clinical expertise in the area of responsibility. Physical demands include standing and walking most of the time on duty. Capable of lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. Work is performed in a clean, air-conditioned environment. Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, and pinch up to 15 lbs. Minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling is required.
