Sr. Cisco Engineer – Sr. Network Engineer - LAN/WAN Engineer Network Engineer / Systems Engineer Needed for Public sector account. For this opportunity, you will be a Network Engineer or Systems Engineer who has strong Cisco routers and switch background, network design experience, and the ability to lead a team of experienced network engineers. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES VPN Router configuration and troubleshooting including LDAP and firewall functions. Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues as required. The WAN Engineer has ownership for resolving problems handeddown from the Help Desk, and enlists support, as necessary, fromother individuals on the WAN, LAN, UNIX, or Desktop teams havingspecial expertise. Provide Root Cause Analysis by determining the cause of a problem andproviding a documented resolution. Resolving faults that could affect the customer or taking the actionsnecessary to resolve faults identified in the Root Cause Analysis Process. Reporting on network performance as needed. In-depth working knowledge of TCP/IP, SSH, FTPs/ sFTP, SNMP, SSL,DNS, VPN, VOIP, DHCP, standard routing protocols and various circuittechnologies. Experience setting up circuits/ remote site connectivity inconjunction with 3rd party providers (AT&T/ Verizon/ Level-3, etc.),including network redundancy and capacity planning, monitoring,and recommendations. Solid understanding of optical (DWDM) and MPLS network topology/environments. Hands-on experience with establishing VPN connectivity (to 3rd partyclients/ service providers preferred), as well as remote access setup REQUIRED SKILLS Certifications: CCIE (Routing/Switch), CCNP, CCVP. 8 years minimum IT networking experience. A strong working knowledge of IP addressing and networking, including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP is required. A working knowledge of Windows server and UNIX/Linux operations is desirable. Valid driver’s license and vehicle access. Very strong Cisco Routing and Switch / Data Networking skills Extensive experience in Layer 2 & Layer 3 technologies Experience in LAN, WAN, WLAN implementations.
