In this role you will use your hands-on and engineering-led, with a strong preference for Java and/or Golang, and a focus on secure-by-design, resilient systems and automation that reduces operational burden.Job responsibilities Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesDrives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced experience with Java and/or GolangHands on AWS experienceProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and SecurityExperience with scripting and working in a Linux/UNIX environmentExperience working with AI agents/copilots for engineering Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience with networking control points such as firewalls, security groups, ingress/egress controllersExperience with automation testing including integration, regression, performance, and smoke testingExperience leveraging Terraform to define, provision, and manage cloud infrastructureShould be highly organized, detail-oriented, hands-on, motivated self-starter who can work independently JPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
