Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Location Peoria, IL Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights (1930-0730) | Onsite | Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday) | Holiday rotation required Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 63-bed Surgical Acute unit, including post-operative surgical patients, trauma patients, and overflow medical patients Perform and manage wound care, dressing changes, IV therapy, pain management, drain management, nasogastric (NG) tubes, central lines, and TPN Monitor and manage patients on CPAP and high-flow oxygen; administer inhalers as indicated Collaborate with PCTs, charge nurses, house supervisors, and respiratory therapy to ensure safe, coordinated patient care Float to units with equivalent experience level as needed; travelers are first to float Adhere to unit scheduling requirements; travelers do not self-schedule and block scheduling must be approved at time of contract Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Experience in post-operative patient care Strong critical thinking skills and ability to recognize when to elevate and seek assistance Demonstrated professional bedside manner and ability to function effectively as a team member Must comply with drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with telemetry monitoring (Philips monitor system used on unit; strip reading managed by central monitor techs) Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records Experience managing central lines and TPN in an acute care setting Why Join Us Structured unit support including pre-assigned charge nurses on every shift, a 24/7 house supervisor, and PCT assistance with vitals, ADLs, accuchecks, turning, and ambulation Defined nurse-to-patient ratios and a structured orientation program with preceptor shifts and dedicated educator time to set you up for success About Concentric Healthcare Staffing Founded and headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, Concentric Healthcare Staffing specializes in healthcare employment with an emphasis in nursing and allied health.
