Pipe yard General Laborer-Helpers

Job Summary: Yard helpers will be responsible for a variety of general labor tasks; targeting the upkeep of yard and work-shops area maintenance.

• Crosstrain on alternate assignments/departments/shops and perform duties in other work areas to assist as needed.
• Ability to assist co-workers in different departments to accomplish completion of task in a timely and safe manor.
• Task assigned could include but not limited to:
• verbal and hand signal instructions to identify pipe to be moved
• clean threads, replace thread protectors, placing protectors on thread.
• verifies heat numbers, quantity, and complete chocking of pipe
• installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• painting, stenciling, sandblasting, coating pipes.
• gather, unload tools and prepare materials and set up equipment needed for days work-task.
• carry, load and unload material to the designated areas assigned.
• maintain housekeeping in assigned work area. (this includes picking up a mop and broom)
• safety use a variety of equipment and machinery to accomplish assigned tasks. (power tools, hand tools, saws, levels, pressure washers, paint, water spraying equipment.)
• any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager.
• at the end of each day, clean, store tools, and equipment for the next day.

Qualifications:

1. reliable transportation to and from work.
2. punctual and reliable (must be able to work 40+)
3. ability to work extended hours and weekends (50-60 hours)
4. positive attitude, team player.
5. ability to lift 50lbs to 80lbs.
6. ability to work in all elements.
