Job Title: Lifeguard Job Type: PRN / As Needed Shift: Day Shift Salary Range: $17.25 – $20.00/hour (Final offer based on skills, experience, and professional background). Why You’ll Love Being Part of Our Team Supportive Team Environment: Work with dedicated professionals who value collaboration and respect Consistent Day Shift Hours: Enjoy predictable scheduling that fits your routine Positive Workplace Culture: Join a caring community that recognizes your contributions and commitment What You’ll Do Maintain continuous surveillance of people in the therapy pool, lap pool, and spa to ensure safety Ensure appropriate headcount of people involved in water activities on a continual basis Provide safety information to people prior to indulging in water sports Supervise swimmers to ensure they comply with safety protocols Spot hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents Enforce all pool rules and handle and report unruly behavior consistently Respond quickly, intelligently, decisively, and according to established emergency and accident management procedures Perform rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents Perform first aid and CPR as required by adverse situations Perform pool chemical checks to ensure safety and hygiene Maintain accurate records of pool use and chemical levels Teach swimming techniques and safety education to new swimmers Check safety of rescue devices and perform or request needed maintenance Ensure all pool equipment is stored safely, and lost items are kept secure What We’re Looking For Completion of High School required, some college preferred Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification Excellent interpersonal communication skills Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Available to work weekends and holidays Fulfills monthly educational obligations; required certifications include current CPR/First Aid/AED As Part of National Lutheran Communities & Services, You'll Enjoy Reliable part‑time daytime scheduling and paid training Team member recognition programs and discounted meals Opportunities for growth and advancement At The Village at Orchard Ridge, lifeguards are more than supervisors—they are vital members of the community, making a positive difference every day.
