Territory Sales Representative – Overhead Crane & Industrial EquipmentWe are seeking an experienced Territory Sales Representative to develop and grow business throughout the Indianapolis market for an established overhead crane and industrial equipment company.This is a true hunter-focused sales role for someone who understands how to sell into manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, warehouses, and other heavy industrial environments. The successful candidate will be comfortable prospecting for new business, developing relationships with plant and operations leaders, identifying equipment and service needs, and growing accounts over time.Industrial equipment sales experience is required. Experience selling overhead cranes, hoists, material handling equipment, industrial services, or related capital equipment is strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop new business throughout the Indianapolis territory through prospecting, networking, referrals, and direct customer outreach.Identify and pursue opportunities with manufacturing plants, distribution facilities, warehouses, and other industrial operations.Build relationships with plant managers, maintenance managers, operations leaders, engineers, purchasing professionals, and other key decision-makers.Sell solutions that may include overhead cranes, hoists, material handling equipment, inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, modernization, and related industrial services.Visit customer facilities to understand operational challenges, equipment needs, and potential sales opportunities.Develop proposals and work with internal technical and operations teams to ensure customers receive the appropriate solution.Re-engage inactive and underdeveloped accounts while building a pipeline of new customers.Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently follow up on opportunities.Develop long-term customer relationships that generate repeat equipment and service business.Maintain knowledge of competitors, market conditions, customer needs, and opportunities throughout the territory.Partner closely with service, operations, engineering, and project teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.Required QualificationsProven industrial equipment sales experience is required.Demonstrated success selling directly into manufacturing or industrial facilities.Strong new-business development and prospecting skills.Experience developing a territory rather than relying solely on established accounts or inbound leads.Ability to understand technical products and communicate their operational and financial value to customers.Comfortable working directly with plant, maintenance, operations, engineering, and purchasing professionals.Strong relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and follow-up skills.Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the Indianapolis territory.Valid driver's license and ability to visit industrial customer locations.Preferred ExperienceExperience selling one or more of the following is highly desirable:Overhead cranes and crane systemsHoistsMaterial handling equipmentIndustrial equipmentForklifts or other powered industrial equipmentIndustrial maintenance or repair servicesAutomation or manufacturing equipmentCapital equipmentPreventive maintenance/service agreementsWhat We're Looking ForWe are looking for someone who enjoys building a territory.
