Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for delivering comprehensive clinical nutrition services to residents, patients, and outpatient programs within a long-term care and medical center environment. Provides nutritional assessment, planning, and education under supervision to ensure quality patient care and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate residents and patients to develop individualized nutrition care plans.
• Provide dietary counseling and support to promote optimal health outcomes.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, and foodservice staff to coordinate nutritional care.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards including The Joint Commission, NYS Department of Health, and CMS requirements.
• Assist in foodservice operations by offering clinical support and guidance to staff.
• Float to other medical center units as needed for coverage and support.

Qualifications:

• Valid registration as a registered dietitian (RD).
• Hold a Master's Degree in Nutrition or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrate knowledge of clinical nutrition, regulatory standards, and healthcare best practices.
• Possess strong communication and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt to floating across different hospital departments.
