Job Details Location: 180 Bloomfield Ave, Hartford, CT 06105 Camp Dates: 6/15/2026 – 8/14/2026 (Fri) (plus setup, breakdown, orientation) Camp Hours: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm (shifts vary) Hourly Wage: $19.75 – $22.25 per hour Steve & Kate’s Camp values radical trust in kids, empowering staff to be authentic and inclusive. As a staff member, you’ll sharpen leadership skills, learn new ones, and collaborate while immersing in creativity and play. Job Responsibilities Act as lead counselor for youngest campers (ages 4‑5), implementing and managing the camp day structure, supervising a team of support staff, and ensuring baseline needs are met. Additional Responsibilities Show appreciation for our self‑directed approach. Engage in conversations with staff, campers, and parents. Take ownership of your own mini‑program. Navigate challenging and sensitive interactions. Care deeply for individuals, going beyond just texting. Remain calm under pressure and soothe others. Maintain stamina and physical ability to keep up with energetic children and lift up to 40 lb. Job Requirements At least 18 years of age. Minimum of 2 months experience working with camp‑age children; 1 year preferred. First Aid & CPR certified prior to Day 1 of Camp. Consent to receive emails or texts from the company. Ready to chaperone off‑site field trips if required. Physical Requirements Follow all safety and health rules. Organize and maintain clean activity spaces. Assist in camp set‑up and breakdown during move‑in and out weekends. Stand for long periods supervising children and facilitating activities. Participate in athletic games.
