The Dishwasher & Food Runner is a part-time position that supports kitchen and café operations by maintaining a clean, organized dish area and helping move food and products efficiently between the kitchen, commissary, and café.

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong sense of urgency, attention to cleanliness and food safety, and the flexibility to move between dishwashing, food running, and general support duties based on the needs of the team.

Dishwashing & Cleaning

· Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, sheet pans, containers, and kitchen equipment.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dishwashing area throughout the shift.

· Properly store clean dishes, equipment, and small wares.

· Empty trash, recycling, and compost as needed.

· Clean floors, sinks, drains, work surfaces, and assigned kitchen areas.

· Follow proper chemical handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures.

· Assist with opening and closing cleaning duties.

Food Running & Operational Support

· Run prepared food, baked goods, grab-and-go items, ingredients, and other products between kitchen, commissary, storage, and café service areas.

· Ensure products are delivered to the correct location quickly, safely, and accurately.

· Handle food carefully to maintain quality, presentation, and proper temperature.

· Assist with stocking food, packaging, utensils, and service supplies.

· Help maintain organization in walk-ins, dry storage, and production areas.

· Communicate with kitchen and café teams regarding missing items, low inventory, or product needs.

· Support basic kitchen or café tasks during slower periods as directed by a manager.

Food Safety & Cleanliness

Follow all company food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.

· Prevent cross-contamination by properly separating clean and dirty equipment.

· Follow FIFO and proper product-handling procedures when stocking or moving food.

· Immediately report food safety, quality, pest, equipment, or facility concerns to a manager.

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, café, kitchen, or dishwashing experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team.

• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.

• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.

• Willingness to move between responsibilities throughout the shift.

• California Food Handler Card required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.

• Availability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and carry items.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work around hot equipment, steam, water, cleaning chemicals, and refrigerated areas.

• Ability to safely transport trays, food containers, dishes, and other products throughout the facility.
