Position Summary RN – Med/Surg Ortho Trauma – Full Time, Days – Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia. Commitment to patient‑ and family‑centered care. The professional nurse uses the nursing process to address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients at Jefferson Health. Responsibilities Integrates evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise, and patient/family preferences into delivery of optimal care. Partners with patients and families to identify learning needs, prioritizes education in an understandable, affirming manner. Minimizes risk of harm by following established nursing practices, protocols, and performance standards. Uses information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision‑making. Uses data to monitor outcomes and applies improvement methods to design and test changes for continuous quality improvement. Functions effectively within inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making. Creates an environment of belonging and inclusion; demonstrates problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills. Acts as a primary preceptor, providing mentorship to staff members. Participates actively in hospital‑ and practice‑setting committees, including safety and quality improvement. Integrates feedback into practice, demonstrates willingness to give and receive constructive feedback. Qualifications Specialized Diploma from an accredited school of nursing (required). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. RN license in the State of Pennsylvania (required). Experience as an RN in an acute care setting (strongly preferred). Knowledge of patient‑and‑family‑centered practice, cultural awareness, effective communication, patient assessment, education techniques, medication administration, discharge planning, assessment and diagnosis, and health information documentation. Bachelor’s Degree BSN or completion within 3 years of hire (strongly preferred). Physical Demands Lift and carry 40–50 lbs. (push/pull patients, stretcher, lateral transfers up to 50 lbs.). Frequent to continuous standing/walking; may walk up to 8–10 miles per shift. Engage in kneeling, bending, squatting, CPR as required.
