About the Position Imperial Golf Club is seeking an experienced and creative Merchandise Manager to lead the Golf Shop retail operation and overall shopping experience. This role oversees merchandise buying, inventory management, visual merchandising, tournament gifting, vendor relations, and retail performance while ensuring the Golf Shop reflects the quality and culture of Imperial Golf Club. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape merchandise strategy, attend industry buying events, build meaningful relationships with members and vendors, and create an engaging retail experience that supports both member satisfaction and retail performance. Key Responsibilities Retail & Merchandising Select, purchase, and oversee a high-end golf merchandise collection that reflects the Club’s culture, member preferences, and evolving industry trends Create and maintain visually appealing merchandise displays, seasonal floor sets, and branded presentations that reflect the high standards and image of Imperial Golf Club Monitor inventory levels, purchasing, receiving, transfers, and stock replenishment Analyze sales trends and product performance to maximize revenue and inventory efficiency Manage member special orders and personalized merchandise requests Attend industry buying events, merchandise markets, and trade shows to identify emerging trends and source new merchandise opportunities Member Experience Deliver elevated and personalized shopping experiences, including one-on-one styling and wardrobe assistance Build strong relationships with members and guests to anticipate preferences and provide exceptional service Utilize innovative merchandising and personalized product recommendations to elevate the overall member shopping experience Club Events & Coordination Partner with the Head Golf Professional and Golf Operations team to support member events, promotions, and retail initiatives Coordinate tournament merchandise, tee gifts, trophies, awards, and event gifting Assist with club initiatives, promotions, and seasonal merchandising programs Vendor & Team Management Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships while negotiating product selections and purchasing opportunities Stay current on golf industry trends, brands, and emerging merchandise opportunities Train and mentor Golf Shop staff regarding merchandise knowledge, sales techniques, and service standards Support a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on hospitality and professionalism Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years of merchandising experience, preferably within a high-end private golf club environment Strong knowledge of luxury golf apparel, accessories, and current retail trends Proven ability to deliver elevated member and guest service with a focus on personalized shopping experiences Exceptional visual merchandising skills with strong attention to detail and presentation standards Ability to analyze sales performance, manage inventory levels, and support retail growth initiatives Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a polished and professional demeanor Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with members, vendors, and fellow team members Previous experience in private clubs, golf, luxury retail, or hospitality environments preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office, retail systems, and point-of-sale platforms preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications Bonus opportunities Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Company-paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Match Paid Vacation and Sick Time Summer season benefits, including a 4-day work week during the off-season Professional Development and Continuing Education Opportunities Attendance at industry events, including the PGA Merchandise Show AGM Membership #J-18808-Ljbffr
