Respiratory Therapist Fulfills the needs of the patients, families and community by performing a variety of routine and intensive therapy, diagnostic procedures and patient assessments in accordance with his/her licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. Maintains and stocks respiratory equipment. Ensures ventilator and life support equipment are operable. Qualifications Graduation from an approved two-year respiratory therapist program Licensed by the District of Columbia Health Regulation Licensed as an RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist and certified by NBRC. Licensed as a CRT Certified Respiratory Therapist or RRT (to become registered within a year) Registered Respiratory Therapist and approved by NBRC BLS Basic Life Support for Health Care Professionals required ACLS and PALS within six months of hire Excellent critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Strong organizational and attention to detail.
