Mechanical Design Engineer

Ainsley Search Group is hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a Global OEM Company located in the Bucks County, this OEM specialized in custom design and manufacture industrial machinery for the defense, aerospace, med device, automotive industries. This Design Engineer will report to the Plant Manager and support the Life cycle of new product development, formulate testing plans, FEA, modify design and support prototyping process. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with lucrative base salary, bonus and competitive benefit.

Responsibilities:

• Report to the Plant Manager and collaborate with customer, Project Manager and cross functional teams to design, test and develop custom machinery based on customer specifications; conduct design drafting, detailing and modeling using 2D/3D CAD systems.
• Oversee the life cycle of product development and design, based on design specifications to develop BOM, ensure the transition from design to manufacturing process such as machining, metal fabrication, plating, painting, electrical wiring, and assembly.
• Generate and document product design specifications, engineering documents, project logs, test reports, instruction manuals, and design evaluation.
• Oversee and support prototyping process, apply modification on design for enhancement.
• Research vendors and suppliers based on material (aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, etc.), support sourcing, qualifying and on-boarding new vendors/suppliers for new product.
• Support starts of production on new products, oversee product process and document manufacturing process for new product, oversee final testing on new products to ensure tolerance and quality are met.
• Provide on-going support on new product functions, testing, production, etc.; collect customer feedback and research, modify and re-design and re-design for improvement and enhancement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical Engineer.
• 5+ years of tenure as a Mechanical Design Engineer within Manufacturing and OEM industries, exposure to industrial system or machinery design required.
• with Solidworks and CAD systems.
• Exposure to fabrication, machining, assembly, plating and painting process preferred.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, able to apply creative and innovative thinking
• Excellent communication and people skills, ability to work independently within a fast pace environment
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects with minimum supervision.
