Dietary Aide / Food Service WorkerAre you dependable, hardworking, and passionate about supporting quality resident care? The DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Dietary Aide / Food Service Worker to join our team and help ensure residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.About the Role Under direct supervision, you will assist with food preparation, tray assembly, meal delivery, cleaning, and dish room responsibilities. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high standards of care and service for our residents.Schedule: 4:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare minor food items, nourishments, and snacksParticipate in tray-line setup, assembly, and meal deliveryAssist residents with tray preparation following established proceduresClean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, carts, pots, pans, and utensilsOperate kitchen tools and equipment safely (dish machine, blenders, ovens, etc.)Sweep, mop, remove trash, and perform routine and special cleaning dutiesNote and record resident meal intakesAdhere to dress code and maintain a neat, professional appearanceAttend required meetings, in-services, and orientationPerform additional duties as assignedQualificationsAbility to read, write, speak, and follow oral and written English instructionsAbility to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPositive and respectful communication with residents, families, and coworkersAbility to perform repetitive, physically demanding, and detail-oriented workNo previous experience required - 1-3 weeks of training providedCurrent CPR certification requiredMust complete ongoing in-service education and orientationPhysical exam and two tuberculin skin tests required within 10 days of hireAbility to safely perform all essential job functions, with or without accommodationAbility to maintain effective working relationships at all levelsPay: $16.19 per hourWork EnvironmentPrimarily indoors in a kitchen and dining areaExposure to residents, families, water, steam, and foodWell-lit and climate-controlled facilityEmergency Responsibilities All team members must understand and follow facility emergency procedures and be able to assist with evacuations and safety-related tasks as needed.I understand that employment may be conditioned upon successfully passing a background check.I hereby affirm that the information provided on this application and accompanying resume, is true and complete.
