Senior ServiceNow Developer - Long-Term Contract (Government) Position Title: Senior ServiceNow Developer Work Arrangement: Onsite Worksite Address: Washington, DC Interviews: In Person Short Description Client is looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer; you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions within the ServiceNow platform. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement solutions within the ServiceNow platform, maintaining modules such as ITSM, ITFM, HRSD, ITOM, PPM, and SPM. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Work with product owners and stakeholders to build requested items and tasks using workflows to manage processes and meet business requirements. Document and maintain functional business requirements, process flows, and business use cases. Perform operational administrative tasks as needed. Assist with report configuration and maintenance as needed. Configure and maintain data integrations between ServiceNow and other systems. Design and develop ServiceNow forms, tables, and modules. Develop workflow and flow designs to drive approvals and process lifecycle. Configure and create business rules, UI policies, UI actions, client scripts, and ACLs, including advanced scripting for each (including CMS/Service Portal). Design, create, and configure notifications, UI pages, UI macros, script includes, formatters, and related elements in ServiceNow. Ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, agency security guidelines, and governance policies, maintaining as close to an out‑of‑the‑box environment as possible. Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers. Stay updated on ServiceNow releases, features, and industry trends. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software across the organization. Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications. Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements. Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software. Address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Consult with project teams and end users to identify application requirements. Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects for management. Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration, and testing tools. Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Act as team leader on projects. Instruct, assign, direct, and check the work of other software developers on the development team. Participate in the development of software user manuals. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience. ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification highly desired. Minimum five years of hands‑on experience with ServiceNow development of the listed modules. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. In-depth knowledge of implementing ServiceNow architecture and scripting. Experience creating ServiceNow update sets, promoting and testing through multiple instances into production. Demonstrated knowledge of service management processes, procedures, and software, including ServiceNow. Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
