Bus Monitor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Bus Monitor. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school. The Bus Monitor will work closely with bus drivers and school staff to provide a secure and positive environment for all passengers.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist students while boarding and disembarking the bus to ensure their safety.
- Maintain order on the bus by enforcing rules and guidelines for appropriate behavior.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any concerns or incidents.
- Assist students with special needs or disabilities, ensuring they receive the support necessary for a comfortable journey.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or issues to the bus driver and transportation department.
- Conduct regular checks of the bus interior and exterior to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings as required to enhance skills and knowledge related to student transportation.
- Collaborate with the transportation team to develop and implement strategies for improving student safety and behavior on the bus.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children in a school or transportation setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures related to student transportation.
- Must pass a background check and any required drug screenings.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
- Physical ability to assist students as needed, including lifting or helping with mobility devices.
