This is not a repetitive manufacturing line or traditional janitorial job. We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented individual eager to develop both technical and business skills.

In this role, you will learn how high-tech manufacturing components are evaluated, cleaned, inspected, and processed. You will gain hands-on training to take customer projects from initial request through technical processing and final shipment.

No prior precision-cleaning experience is required—we provide structured, hands-on training!

What You Will Learn

You will be trained to understand how the following factors affect a precision-cleaning project:

• Part materials and surface finishes
• Part size, geometry and complexity
• Blind holes, internal passages, threads and difficult-to-reach areas
• Machining oils, lubricants, greases, particles and other soils
• Customer drawings, specifications and cleaning standards
• Cleaning, rinsing and drying methods
• Visual inspection and cleanliness verification
• Controlled-environment handling and packaging
• Job costing, quotation preparation and project documentation

The goal is for you to gradually develop the ability to help take a customer project from the initial request through final shipment and invoicing.

Your Responsibilities

Project Review and Quotation Support

• Review customer drawings, photographs, specifications, and part descriptions.
• Help identify part materials, soils, cleanliness requirements and difficult-to-clean features.
• Ask customers the technical questions needed to define the cleaning scope.
• Assist with selecting the cleaning, inspection, testing and packaging requirements for each project.
• Develop job-cost information and prepare quotations using established Jetsons procedures.
• Confirm that the proposed work can be performed safely and without damaging the component.

Precision Cleaning Operations

• Receive, identify and document incoming customer parts.
• Perform manual, aqueous, ultrasonic and vacuum-ultrasonic cleaning processes.
• Prepare cleaning solutions and operate equipment according to approved procedures.
• Rinse, dry, inspect and package parts while preventing recontamination.
• Handle parts in controlled-environment areas when required.
• Maintain equipment, work areas, tools and cleaning supplies in an orderly condition.
• Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals, equipment and customer components.

Inspection, Quality and Documentation

• Perform visual inspection and other cleanliness-verification activities after training.
• Complete production records, inspection records and certificates accurately.
• Confirm that parts meet the customer’s specified cleaning and packaging requirements.
• Maintain traceability of customer parts throughout the process.
• Identify unusual results, process deviations or potential quality concerns.
• Assist with corrective actions and updates to procedures when needed.

Customer and Business Support

• Communicate professionally with customers regarding project information, quotations, schedules and job status.
• Follow up on selected quotations and customer inquiries.
• Help prepare shipment and invoicing information after jobs are completed.
• Maintain organized electronic and paper project records.
• Support purchasing and inventory tracking for cleaning chemicals, packaging materials and consumable supplies.

Process Improvement

• Observe cleaning and inspection processes and recommend practical improvements.
• Help develop work instructions, checklists and job-specific procedures.
• Participate in trials to improve cleaning effectiveness, consistency, turnaround time and cost.
• Help organize the shop as Jetsons adds equipment, capabilities and customers.

Typical Work Mix

The position will normally include a combination of:

• Hands-on cleaning, inspection and packaging
• Customer-project review and quotation preparation
• Documentation and quality activities
• Customer communication and administrative support
• Process development and continuous improvement

The exact mix will vary depending on the projects in the facility. Training will be phased so that you are not expected to learn everything at once.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong professional written and spoken English communication skills.
• Comfortable using email, spreadsheets and common business software.
• Ability to carefully follow written procedures and document completed work.
• Mechanical curiosity and interest in understanding how parts are manufactured and used.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and follow-through.
• Comfortable performing both hands-on technical work and computer-based administrative work.
• Willingness to ask questions and learn unfamiliar technical subjects.
• Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work on-site at our Garner, North Carolina facility.

Preferred Qualifications

Any combination of the following would be helpful, but is not required:

• Associate degree, certificate or coursework in mechanical engineering technology, machining, manufacturing, biotechnology, chemistry, quality, business or a related field.
• Experience in manufacturing, machining, laboratory operations, quality inspection, parts cleaning, assembly or equipment operation.
• Experience reading technical drawings or customer specifications.
• Familiarity with controlled environments, quality systems, standard operating procedures or regulated manufacturing.
• Experience preparing estimates, quotations, work orders or invoices.
• Customer-service or technical-sales experience.
• Professional ability to communicate in both English and Spanish.

Physical and Work Requirements

• Ability to stand and move around a production area for portions of the workday.
• Ability to use hand tools and perform careful manual cleaning and packaging work.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to safely lift and move parts or containers weighing up to 20 lbs.
• Willingness to work with cleaning chemicals after receiving the required safety training.
