Special Education Teacher

Description:
We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a self-contained classroom in Gurnee, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator passionate about helping students overcome academic and behavioral challenges while fostering a supportive learning environment. Position Details:

• Position: Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained Classroom)

• Student Population: Elementary

• Caseload: To be determined

• Required Credential: Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement

• Schedule: Monday Friday

• Support students in addressing academic and behavioral delays.

• Develop and implement appropriate academic and behavioral interventions.

• Collaborate with school staff to support students in special education and regular education settings.

• Provide instruction and support within a self-contained classroom.

• Work closely with a team of providers to ensure coordinated student support.

• Establish and maintain effective communication systems among team members.

• Experience teaching educational life skills.

• Experience working with low-incidence student populations.

• Knowledge of behavior planning and intervention strategies.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• Ability to organize and maintain effective systems for team communication.
