Technical Product ManagerMethods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America.Methods designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. The corporate campus in Sudbury, Mass., comprises a showroom/technical center, which contains automation, applications, and a full range of cutting-edge machines. Methods has more than 300 employees, nine technology centers, one high precision machining center, and has installed more than 45,000 machines throughout North America.The Technical Product Manager is a critical technical liaison and the custodian of all product-specific information for assigned CNC machine tools. This role ensures that all technical documentation, pricing data, configuration details, and internal/external communications regarding product specifications are complete, accurate, and current. Operating in a highly cross-functional capacity, the Technical Product Manager works closely with other Product Managers, assigned builders, sales teams, dealers, and internal departments to support product integrity and sales efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Create and maintain all supplemental technical documentation (installation guides, safety procedures, manuals, training docs) for internal and external stakeholders.Ensure documentation accuracy and version control throughout the product lifecycle.Establish and maintain a structured change control process, including monthly updates to communicate new or modified technical data.Collaborate with IT and internal teams to streamline creation and management of Item Masters and Bills of Materials (BOMs).Manage and update SharePoint resources and dealer-accessible platforms (e.g., dShare) with the most current technical information.Maintain accurate pricing, cost structures, and option configurations in alignment with builder specifications and internal PIP systems.Support the Product Management team with the development and upkeep of cost calculation tools, price lists, product descriptions, and Item Master checklists.Serve as the technical go-to for Sales and Dealer teams, providing up-to-date support materials (sales aids, product presentations, manuals, etc.) that drive sales efficiency.Partner with Product Managers and builder contacts to ensure technical accuracy across product documentation, options, and quotations.Facilitate technical communication between departments including Sales, Service, Engineering, IT, and Dealer Networks.Ensure customer and service team access to relevant installation procedures, machine manuals, and technical drawings.Assist PM teams in collecting competitor intelligence, tracking market trends, and identifying future technical product needs.Provide on-site or virtual technical sales support for the PM team as needed.Required Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.3+ years of experience in technical product management, engineering, or applications support, ideally within the CNC machine tool industry.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and BOM/ERP systems.Experience with documentation tools, SharePoint, and item master creation workflows.Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally and translate complex technical data into user-friendly content.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with CAD and PLM systems a plus.Supervisory Responsibilities: noneTravel Requirements: Approximately 50% of timePhysical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
