Lead Software Engineer/Developer

Salary: $116,200 - 194,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a masters degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.

• We require substantial experience in software design, development, integration, and testing.
• We require experience leading software teams or working as a software technical lead.
• We require experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, simulation systems, modeling and simulation applications, training systems, or other complex software-intensive environments.
• We require proficiency in one or more programming languages, frameworks, and development environments relevant to the program.
• We require experience with software lifecycle practices, version control, issue tracking, and software integration methods.
• We require the ability to lead technical work, solve complex engineering problems, and coordinate cross-functional development efforts.

• We require the ability to work effectively in a team leadership role within a multidisciplinary program setting.

• We lead software engineering efforts for a mid-size simulation development program, including design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
• We provide day-to-day technical direction and team coordination for software developers working on simulation applications, services, interfaces, and supporting tools.
• We help plan, prioritize, and execute software work to achieve cost, schedule, performance, and quality goals.
• We translate simulation system requirements and operational needs into development approaches, architectures, and implementation plans.
• We oversee software design choices, coding practices, integration strategies, and defect resolution.
• We support team management through work assignment, technical mentoring, collaboration, and performance support for assigned personnel.
• We coordinate software efforts with systems engineering, test, integration, cybersecurity, configuration management, and program management teams.
• We contribute to software architecture, interface design, data flow design, and technical baseline management for simulation solutions.
• We ensure our software products remain secure, maintainable, scalable, and aligned with approved engineering standards and lifecycle processes.
• We lead or support agile, iterative, or hybrid development activities such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, reviews, and retrospectives.
• We review source code, technical designs, build processes, and test results to confirm technical quality and readiness.
• We support troubleshooting of complex software and integration issues across simulation components and development environments.
• We track team progress, technical risks, dependencies, and issues, and report status to program leadership.
• We support software release planning, configuration management, DevSecOps processes, and environment coordination.
• We participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, milestone events, and management briefings as needed.
