The Sales Lead is an important part of the Emily McCarthy retail team, combining exceptional customer service and selling with added responsibility for supporting the daily leadership and operations of the store. 

In addition to creating a welcoming, elevated, and memorable experience for every customer, the Sales Lead serves as a trusted leader on the sales floor. This role helps set the standard for the team, supports opening and closing responsibilities, and takes ownership of maintaining our Gold Standard of customer experience and store operations when a member of management is not immediately present.

The Sales Associate is an important part of the Emily McCarthy retail team and is responsible for creating a welcoming, elevated, and memorable experience for every customer who walks through our doors. 

This role supports the daily sales and operational needs of the store while building genuine customer relationships, developing strong product knowledge, and representing the Emily McCarthy brand at the highest standard. 

What you'll do

• Welcome every customer into the store and provide an engaging, personalized shopping experience from arrival through checkout. 
\n
• Represent the Emily McCarthy brand, lifestyle, product, and customer with confidence and enthusiasm. 
\n
• Actively contribute to individual and store sales goals through exceptional service, styling, clienteling, and product knowledge. 
\n
• Build genuine relationships with customers and support the store’s clienteling efforts through personalized outreach and follow-up. 
\n
• Learn new collections, product details, fit, fabrication, styling opportunities, and brand stories in order to confidently assist customers. 
\n
• Support customers in fitting rooms and provide thoughtful styling recommendations to help create complete looks. 
\n
• Maintain an elevated sales floor through continuous recovery, replenishment, organization, and attention to detail. 
\n
• Follow visual merchandising standards and help ensure the store consistently reflects the Emily McCarthy brand. 
\n
• Assist with receiving, processing, replenishing, and organizing inventory as needed. 
\n
• Support store events, launches, promotions, and other community-building initiatives. 
\n
• Communicate customer feedback, selling opportunities, product requests, and inventory needs to store leadership. 
\n
• Accurately complete transactions and follow all point-of-sale, cash-handling, and store procedures. 
\n
• Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented store environment. 
\n
• Uphold Emily McCarthy’s expectations for customer experience, presentation, professionalism, and our Gold Standard of retail excellence.

A LITTLE MORE TO KNOW

• This is a part-time, hourly position based in our Charleston, South Carolina retail store on King Street. 
\n
• Retail availability is essential. Associates should be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including weekends, holidays, and select evenings. 
\n
• Scheduling and weekly hours may vary based on seasonality and the needs of the store. 
\n
• All team members are expected to maintain the appearance, professionalism, and service standards established for Emily McCarthy retail locations. 
\n
• Associates are expected to follow all company policies, procedures, dress standards, and guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook. 
\n
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the store and business. 
\n
