Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: E&I Technician Location: Wink Job status: Full Time Permanent Department: US Operations - Wink Is this position safety sensitive:Yes The Role The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician assists the Wink Manager Operations and the Operations and Engineering teams in the daily terminal and pipeline operations. Provides technical expertise and guidance with respect to the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of all instrumentation & electrical equipment. Supervises and coordinates contract workers, in these disciplines, that are working in the area. What You'll Do Aids in the development, maintenance & upgrades for S CADA and PLC software programming. Communicates with operational personnel with respect to maintenance or changes to area equipment (including SCADA controls). Assists in maintenance and the day-to-day trouble shooting of Top tech, HMI, SCADA & Tank view or other systems with Knowledge of communication protocols RS 232/485 Modbus. Schedules preventative maintenance for instrumentation/Electrical equipment (Maximo). Assists with planning and executing tasks using Maximo to track work & progress with the use of check sheets to track work. Assists in the design of control and electrical systems for area facilities. Keeps maintenance and repair expenditures within budget limits and is responsible to code instrumentation/electrical invoices to track maintenance and project costs. Produces estimates for the material and installation costs of area facilities. Assists in maintenance and repair projects and costing for capital budget. Assists Director US Operations & Engineering with creating budgets and maintaining budgets to reflect expected operating conditions. Troubleshoot problems related to electrical controls, motors, VFD’s and PLCs. Troubleshoot problems related to instrumentation and controls, valves, meters and quality assurance equipment. Participates in commissioning of new equipment, facilities and additions to existing controls. Maintains all electrical and instrumentation equipment as required by manufacturer recommendations & standards. Contracts out maintenance work that is outside of your abilities and supervise contractors. Troubleshoots related to terminal operating systems. Expedites the purchase and delivery of materials needed for various projects and maintenance. Uses computer systems as required to perform preventive maintenance activities. Assists with the development of operating manuals for new and old operating systems within the terminal. Ensures outside carriers and contractors coming into the Wink terminal have up to date Service agreements, insurance coverage & safety standards that meets Gibson’s requirements. Sets priorities to accommodate for the needs of the terminal operations. Provides written advance notice to applicable business units for all shutdowns. Deals with customer concerns courteously and on a timely basis. Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures. May perform other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring to the Role Journeyman Electrician and Instrumentation Certificate. 5-7 years of progressive experience as Instrumentation Tech. 5-7 years of progressive experience as an Electrician and of hands-on facility construction and maintenance. Possesses the required safety certificates of the industry Proficiency in the use of business software, i.e. Excel, Microsoft Word, etc. Understands pipeline dynamics. Ability to effectively analyze data used in the troubleshooting of area equipment to maintain their operation within an acceptable margin of error. Ability to work as an effective and valued team member that can share ideas as well as take advice from team. Ability to complete projects on time, while at the same time, accommodate existing Operations (minimum interruption to existing facility operations). Advanced knowledge of relevant technological improvements. Working Conditions Field based position with significant travel to operating sites required. Must be available for on-call emergency response. Must be able to meet requirements to complete site tours and inspections.
