The LMA 4 at SJN should be willing to be trained to function as a Tech Assist and will not work at a POC lab. This position would provide flexible support: • Assisting as a Tech Assist during high volume periods: issuing blood products/loading analyzers • Supporting the morning run with phlebotomy. • Dual role: Serving as both night shift technical support and morning run phlebotomy support

Responsibilities

The Lab Medical Assistant IV is responsible for:

• Assists the technical staff within the technical departments
• Handles any and all manual pretesting procedures including waived testing as required
• Works in a team environment
• Demonstrate organizational, time management, analytical, delegation, written, and verbal skills
• Use computer skills appropriate to position
• Must have customer service and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of regulatory standards appropriate to position
• Identifies problems and implements and/or recommends solutions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Certification & Licensure

• Required – Driver's License (if applicable)
• Required – ASCP / SCYM (if applicable)
• Required – AMT Medical Technologists (if applicable)
• Required – ASPT Phlebotomy Technicians (if applicable)

Education

• Required – High School or Equivalent
• Preferred – Technical Science
• Preferred – Associate's

Experience

• Required – 1 year in related field
• Preferred – 2 years in related field
