Senior Director, Clinical Operations

Madrigal Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Director of Clinical Operations to lead strategic planning and execution of global Phase I-IV clinical trials. The role involves overseeing complex programs from initiation through closeout, managing regulatory compliance, directing vendor partnerships, and building high-performing operational teams within a growing biopharmaceutical company.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across Phase I-IV clinical development programs
• Oversee study execution from start-up through closeout, ensuring compliance with timelines, quality, and budgets
• Lead CRO selection, contracting, and performance monitoring through governance and key metrics
• Manage site identification, feasibility, activation, enrollment, and retention strategies globally
• Direct line management, coaching, and career development for clinical operations staff

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading global clinical development programs across multiple phases
• Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional clinical operations initiatives
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, FDA, EMA, and regional regulatory requirements
• Proven ability to develop and mentor high-performing clinical operations teams
• Experience with CRO selection, contracting, and performance oversight
• Track record of operational planning, budgeting, and risk management in clinical trials
