FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (PART TIME)

Job Summary Food Service Worker/Cashier – part‑time position responsible for cashiering duties and general food service work, ensuring sanitation standards and customer satisfaction. Location Beaverton Schools – 3090 Crocket Street, Beaverton, MI 48612. Schedule Part‑time, on‑call schedules with days varying; typical hours are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Additional details will be discussed during the interview. Compensation Fixed pay rate of $14.00 per hour. Responsibilities Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure designated ingredients. Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards; distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures. Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved recipes and production standards to maintain proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined service steps. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner. Relay relevant information to supervisors. Perform sales transactions, enter sales into the cash register, and reconcile purchases. Provide change, accept declining balance cards, and process other acceptable forms of payment. Issue receipts to customers. Follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds. Maintain compliance with cash drawer overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior food service, cashier, and catering experience preferred (not required). Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Potential requirement for Florida Level 2 background screening. Understanding of periods of reduced operation (e.g., school breaks) and willingness for unpaid, temporary layoff periods.
