We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and customer-focused Medical Call Center Assistant to join our growing healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service while managing inbound and outbound calls, scheduling appointments, answering questions, and ensuring accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains patient confidentiality, and is committed to delivering a positive patient experience. Responsibilities:
- Answer calls, typically 150 + per day. Scheduling appointments, addressing patient questions and routing calls appropriately.
- Handle a variety of call types icluding medication refills, inquires from Physician offices and pharmacies, and prior authorization requests.
- Resolve patient inquiries and issues effectively and in a timely manner.
- Adapt communication style to effectively engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Schedule patients needing insurance enrollmant/sliding fee assistance.
- Understand and follow scheduling workflows, call center processes and HCH policies.
- Apply critical thinking and conflict resolution skills to assess caller needs, resolve issues efficently and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Seek assistance or delegates as needed to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in front-line customer service or a similar call center position
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience with electronic medical records
