Principal Database Engineer

To support the architecture and operational excellence of enterprise database platforms, the full-time Principal Database Engineer will manage cloud-first healthcare applications, focusing on automation, performance, and reliability in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Define and govern highly available and secure enterprise database platforms across cloud environments (AWS, GCP) Lead the lifecycle management and modernization of Microsoft SQL Server platforms while driving migrations to PostgreSQL and cloud-native services Design automated frameworks for database provisioning, maintenance, and performance analytics using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Required qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 10+ years of experience managing enterprise relational database platforms in public cloud environments Experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and database DevOps practices Microsoft SQL Server certification or equivalent experience AWS or Google Cloud Professional certification (preferred) Virtual Vocations Inc
